We have the Bruins trudging to the finish line, the Celtics in the playoffs, and the Red Sox playing in the muck. I found myself flipping between the three and disappointed wherever I stopped.
The Bruins were once again sleep walking. They’re limping to the finish. Against a sub .500 team I expected better but they lost 5-2. The game was over after two. They fade so much late in games I had no confidence after two so I flipped over to the C’s abandoning the Bruins.
It wasn’t any better in New York. Garnett got his fourth foul and then their offense – which looked good at the beginning of the second and midway through the second – faded. Invisible in the second half just like they did in game one. They’re old and seeing it. Pretty sure this series is the Knicks for the winning. The C’s may take a game but I think they’re done and this may be the end of KG’s career.
Meanwhile in Fenway the Sox were down 13-0. I have to believe Uncle Larry was locked in a closet somewhere when I read this gem from Gordon Edes:
Red Sox management was sufficiently embarrassed that they offered anyone holding a ticket to this dreck free admission to Wednesday afternoon’s series finale against the Athletics or Thursday night’s game against the Houston Astros, who will be making their Boston debut as an American League entry. Fans can exchange their ticket stubs at Gate E beginning two hours before game time.
Free admission? I think Uncle Larry is definitely locked in a closet.
Three games, three losses. A bad night all around.
