The Sox have won three games in a row. So all is right in the world, right?
Wrong. Still in last place, 3.5 games out of fourth place. Beckett’s still an assholeface. All is not right.
But I will start with the positive and that’s Will Middlebrooks. It has been outstanding watching this guy’s productivity in the bigs. I was worried that when he came up that he’d slow down how well he was doing in Pawtucket. He hasn’t.
But the jackass GM, Puppet Cherington, has already said it’s Youk’s job when he comes back. Um, I know you’re a puppet and my anger should be directed to Uncle Larry, but it shouldn’t be Youk’s job anymore. Prior to the injury he was sucking. You’re now getting productivity from the position, I stick with productivity.
Once upon a time some kid named Wade Boggs came up and took Carney Lansford’s spot at third. Why can’t it happen again 30 years later?
Brady took Bledsoe’s job. Why not Middlebrooks taking Youkilis’s?
I think Youk still has some trade value. You’re certainly not getting dollar for dollars but you’re not going to get ten cents either.
I like seeing Middlebrooks in there. He’s not an entitled asshole like so much of this team has become. He makes me want to tune in (not when Beckett is starting).
I hope the team’s ownership is smart enough to see this.
