Nailed It

Let’s recap what I said on Friday regarding the NFL playoffs…

#1 Pats
#2 Pittsburgh
#3 Houston
#4 Denver
#5 Baltimore
#6 Cincinnati

#1 Green Bay
#2 San Fran
#3 New Orleans
#4 Giants
#5 Atlanta
#6 Detroit

Although I didn’t get my games right on Friday I got the seedings all correct. I’m so proud…sure the Bengals and Broncos backed in but they made it all the same.

Now the Pats…

I’m happy as a fan that they got the number one seed in the playoffs. As an overall football fan I’m pretty scared of this team going into the playoffs.

The season showed us that the team needs defense. At least a little more defense than they have now. Enough to balance the superiorness of the offense by not letting the team fall into a 21-0 hole. Now, that’s also on the offense when Tom Brady is throwing bounce passes seven yards short. It also doesn’t help when Matt Light is using the olé technique trying to protect Brady.

Short and sweet today but the team is statistically the best in the AFC. They beat themselves when they lost to Pittsburgh and New York, and laid down in their only other loss to the Bills. The team can win games if they don’t make mistakes. That means on both sides of the ball.

The defense can’t allow a Ray Rice type run that sinks the team very early. Brady and the offense can’t three and out so much. The inexperienced (less talented) defense needs rest. You keep throwing them out there after only a two minute break and they’re going to give up those huge plays.

Ugh, it’s going to be a long two weeks building up to the game…

I’ll give you my Wild Card predictions on Friday.
