While we’ve had Bruins fever for the last week and a half or so the Sox have still been playing. They didn’t all of a sudden take the week off because the Stanley Cup Finals.
Well, not only are they playing but they’re winning. They swept the A’s over the weekend and after a day off on Monday they were in New York for three games. Yes, they played the Yankees and it really wasn’t on the radar with the Bruins in the Finals.
So how’d they do against the hated Yankees. Um, they swept them. In the process they went from a game back in the East to two games up over New York.
Now the Sox head to…anyone? Anyone?
Toronto to play the Blue Jays in a weekend series at Rogers Center in Toronto.
But it’s the Rogers Arena where everyone’s attention will be tonight on the other side of Canada. Bruins get ready for Game 5 against the Canucks. Like I said yesterday, I rocked my jersey in Game 7 against Tampa Bay. Didn’t wear it in Games 1 & 2 against Vancouver but was rocking it in Game 3. Needless to say it will be worn tonight for Game 5.
At this point the Bruins are so very much inside the Canucks heads they have to be confident heading into tonight’s game. So long as they come out and punch them in the mouth like they did in Game 4 they should have no problems in going up 3-2 in the series.
