Quick, Everyone, Off The Bandwagon

Patrick Lalime is no Ryan Miller.

I guess that’s the lesson that we can take away from last night’s game. After beating the Sabres last week at the TD Garden, the Sabres won at HSBC Arena in a large part to starting goaltender Ryan Miller.

After falling behind in the first period, the Bruins came out swinging in the second. In fact they dominated the second period outshooting the Sabres 24-8. Unfortunately for the B’s one of those eight found the back of the net and that was the difference maker.

But what did I like?

How about the physicality of the Bruins. Lucic, Thornton, and even Chara with his college hockey cage on his helmet, brought some intensity. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Bruins do the exact same thing tomorrow night and really beat up the Sabres. The old adage, if you can’t win the game, win the fight.

But I don’t foresee the Bruins losing the game. Really their goal is to steal one in Buffalo and take it back to Boston. Well, Tuukka played very well despite the loss, so I expect that to stay the same. He doesn’t give up stupid, flop around on the ground like a fish, rebounds like Thomas and that’s a huge asset to the team.

While other people are jumping off the bandwagon and probably blaming Wideman for the loss, it’s way too early for that. And this is from a guy that wrote the team off in January (my bad). Excited for tomorrow’s matinee in Buffalo. Let’s hope it ends in a Bruins win.
