Celtics Lose. Again

Again, sorry for the late update. This daylight savings stuff has really thrown off my sleep pattern and I want nothing more than to wail on the snooze button in the morning.

So last night I tuned into the Celtics/Heat game. Tip off scheduled for 7:30 and that’s when the pregame show ended. Well, they finally tipped off at like 7:45PM. If the game’s really going to start at 7:45, let me know so I can plan accordingly.

The C’s went in with a depleted team and I honestly thought they had no shot at this game. Then a funny thing happened. They hung in there. Ray Allen was playing like Ray Allen and Leon Powe was playing out of his mind. This is the Leon we remember from the Finals last season and he had a double/double like halfway through the second quarter.

The problem with the team though was the same one that plagued them the last two games. Shitty officiating. I’m not saying this was as lopsided as the LeBron calls last Friday or the Leon call Sunday away from the ball, just bad officiating in general. So of course like two minutes in, Perkins already had two personals. When you’re down to Leon, Perkins, and Mikki Moore as your only bigs, you want to stay out of foul trouble. Even with the shitty officiating the team managed to hang in, mostly because the aforementioned Powe and Allen.

Celtics Heat Basketball

Let me take a moment to tell you how much I hate the NBA hype man. It’s the stupidest fucking job on the planet and no one wants to hear this baffoon yelling like an asshole for 48 minutes of a basketball game (God forbid they go into OT). Miami’s guy last night was so fucking annoying! That’s why one of the reason I’ve liked the Celtics for so long, no bullshit. Class and tradition. The guy in Miami (and other arenas) is a whole lot of bullshit.

So I tuned away for a little bit and came back in time for the fourth quarter. Once again the team was down double digits in the fourth quarter and came storming back to within one. Like Sunday. They played ferocious defense and crashed the boards very well. So well that when Perkins pushed Jermaine O’Neal in the back, the refs didn’t call it. Great time to start with the no calls, when the game is almost over.

Well, it was too little too late and the C’s ended up blowing it by eight. It’s great with the “Rah, Rah” bullshit that they hung in with a depleted team, but the injuries are starting to take their toll and without Rajon and KG they’re in jeopardy of slipping to the third seed in the East.

Get healthy and get these guys back. Home court is that important.
