Waking up this morning I wanted nothing more than to be a kid again with a school cancelation. Unfortunately I’m a big boy and have to get my ass out the door to work. But I guess in this economy having a job is better some folks.

Let’s start with these stupid looking things. Look, if this was the new hat and logo for the Pawtucket Red Sox, I have no issues. But it looks very, very amateurish. I know they’re not wearing them at home, but stick with the red as the third jersey and don’t wear these accept maybe during batting practice. Home whites, road greys, occasional red jersey to mix it up.

I night after the Bruins couldn’t get it done in Washington, they laid down the basketball court over the ice and the Celtics kicked the snot out of the Wizards. 122-88. At what point are you playing on the other team and ask for the game to be called? Remember when Arenas said the C’s weren’t as good as the Wizards? HA! In the process the Celtics broke the franchise record for best start at 21-2. Five more wins and they’ll break the NBA record for best start.

Finally we have the Pats and the Raiders. I’m sure we’ll have to endure Snow Bowl references and tuck rule references. My response to that? Suck it. The Raiders got their shot the next year and they lost in the Super Bowl. What have the two teams done since? Well, let’s see. The Pats have won two more Super Bowls while the Raiders have been picking in the top 5 for what seems like the last 5 years.
This is Randy Moss’s revenge game. The game where he gets to show Al Davis exactly what he could have had if he bothered to build a contender in Oakland. Matt Cassel was back with the team Thursday following the death of his father earlier this week. If anyone remembers Brett Favre’s dad dying, Brett had a career game. Let’s hope that Cassel follows suit. Look for the Pats to throw all over the Raiders with Welker and Watson getting lots of looks against safeties that really suck.
The Pats are favored by seven. Which like I said in Monday’s column probably means they squeak it out by a field goal. But more and more reading up on the game has me convinced the Pats are going to beat them by at least two touchdowns. Let’s go with 34-10. Back Monday with a recap.
