The kind folks at WordPress (the company that hosts my blog) were nice enough to remind me that this past weekend was the one year anniversary of jaylizotte.com. Of course they alerted me to this by asking for more money to keep my site with them.
So I debated.
There were times during the Patriots run last year and even some of my Celtics columns that I had readers in the hundreds. I know it doesn’t sound like much, but considering it’s a word of mouth thing, hundreds is pretty good. But lately it’s been a dwindling audience. In the last month the highest daily view was 34. From hundreds to 34.
Obviously you can see why I debated reupping with the site for another year. So 30 of my closest friends can read my thoughts? A phone call or a conversation in passing is going to spew the same stuff I write here.
Well the good news is that I pulled the trigger and I’m keeping the blog going. I’m going to stick with the same format (for now) where I write every weekday (when people need an escape from stupid work) and see if we can grow the audience.

I know some of my columns suck. I usually admit it in the post. I also know that a lot of the stats and such that are in my columns are stolen stuff from other sites, but I’m trying. If something really pisses me off I’m more than happy to run with it even for a couple of days (Manny).
So I ask you, the faithful 30ish, pass on the link to friends, family and anyone interested in the ramblings of a random Boston Sports fan. Sure my stuff wasn’t good enough for the WEEI blog contest (I disagree with the judges) but let’s build this site into something bigger and better.
As usual you’re more than welcome to leave suggestions or ideas in the comments section (it’s not reserved just for Da Guy). I’ll be back tomorrow with some real sports stuff.
Thank you for a decent first year. Let’s make year two even better.
What!@#$%^??? This space isn’t reserved for.. aghh, emmm…. “DaGuy”!???
I thought for sure this was my blog posting page?
Well, maybe I’m not we
