Down 5-0 and Delcarmen coming into the ball game, I won’t lie to you, I shut it off and went to bed.
Well, Journey told us long ago “Don’t Stop Believing”.

I watched on ESPN.com while enjoying The Office. They had a live chat going during the game and most of the conversation talked about how a Phillies/Rays World Series would suck. Not just matchup wise but ratings wise too. I turned The Office on at 9 when it was only 2-0, and proceeded to see the box score keep changing. It changed to 4-0 and then 5-0. At that point Lauren was out. “I’m not watching,”was the IM I got.
I texted my friend working over at Fenway at 5-0 in the fifth and told him to get some good shots of Tampa Bay celebrating on the Fenway infield. I even got the reply, “yup”.
Funny thing, that text was at about 10:30. About an hour later I got a couple more texts. “You better not be sleeping!” followed by “Oh my God 7-7!!”. Needless to say they tried calling me as well but I was sound asleep and pleasantly surprised when I woke up this morning.

So what does this all mean for this weekend? Is the performance from Drew and Papi what we can expect going forward? Will Beckett be 2007 Beckett? Will Lester be the Jonny Lester we’ve been watching all season?
Well, last year a lot of us decided not to watch and the Sox won games five and six. Then everyone was back in their seats for game seven. We can only hope for a repeat performance this year. It’s a tougher task on the road in St. Pete opposed to Fenway last year. If anything, we at least know the season lasts until Saturday, which is better than Thursday. If they pull it out Saturday, all bets are off for Sunday.
Back Monday when all will be revealed.
I may have said this before, but the bandwagon is closed! All those who abandon the bandwagon, MUST pay to get back aboard! The Rays are in big, BIG trouble! Momentum is a bitch, best left on the corner where you found her….
“I knew it! I’m surrounded by assholes!”
8-1 in Elimination games under Francona. 4-0 against the Yankees, 3-0 against the Indians, and now 1-0 against the Rays. Let’s see if they can make it 2-0 today…
