“Jay, why would you play The Four Tops to start off your blog today?”
That’s a great question and I’m glad you brought it up. It’s because the Bruins just keep their level of disappointment the same every fucking year. This team hasn’t been to a Stanley Cup Final in almost 20 years and hasn’t won a Cup in my lifetime. 1972 was a long time ago.
So with all the hype and physical play that was touted by the media heading into last night’s game, you had to think that B’s really had a chance. But no sooner was the puck dropped and you had the typical sense of doom. The Bruins decided to abandon their physical play that was so successful for them in the series and were trounced by the Canadiens.
As we were watching we kept waiting for the Bruins to step up and hit someone and with the exception of a great PJ Axelson hip check, the Bruins hitting was non existent. Which is fine I guess because so was their power play. How on Earth do you not score at least once on the power play in six chances is beyond me.
So the Bruins jersey, that I dug out of the closet and took off after the team went down 3-0, heads back into the closet to maybe come out again next year. Seems an all too often sentiment with this franchise. Next year. I guess things could be worse, The Maple Leafs are without a Cup since ’67 and the Blackhawks haven’t won since 1961.
Bottom line is that in a world where the Mighty Ducks and Tampa Bay Lightning are listed on the Stanley Cup more recently than the Bruins is pathetic!
Que The Guy’s sign:

Trying to put a positive light on this, the team is young and looks to be on the right track. If they can find some fool to eat Murray’s contract or just buy him out, they should free up some money to bring in some defensive help which as we saw last night was a glaring need. Team defense wasn’t too bad but individual sucked.
So that’s the last Bruins post you’ll get for a while (I know you’re grateful). The only thing I’ll post between now and the fall is if there’s major news.
Back to the Sox, winners of 5 straight, the Celtics Championship run, and later this week I’ll have some NFL Draft insight.
Da Guy, was that you that made that sign? that makes that sign even better. lol
Not only did I make that sign, but Im out $20 in sharpies, and duct tape,…. (legal pending…)
I love to hate the Bruins, but I also have to give those guys credit. If they had had played that well during the reg. season, they never would have had to face les Habitants(Les Canadiens) in the first round. And If Patrice Bergeron hadn’t been brutally raped of his amazing skills, I think, just maybe, JUST maybe these guys may have gone somewhere… But thats all in the land of make beleive… really it is…
For now, as a Boston Fan, the spotlight is on a new jugaurnaut! Be it the sox(for which whom time can wait) or the New Life Jazz Orchestra aka the Boston Celtics. The newly revised Boston teams are on top. We are all living the dream of all sports fans. Almost all of our teams are on the top! In fact, anyone outside of The city of great sports can kiss my ass. Pucker-up bitches!
and if I may…
Shake It UUuppp!
