Jackasses!

So as you can guess from my posts I listen to my fair share of the talk radio, specifically sports talk radio.

See, KG was shocked to find that out, but it’s true.

Some of these callers and hosts for that matter are just so fucking annoying to listen to. They get so worked up about trying to force a point across that is asinine and/or absurd. Let’s take an example I had the pleasure of listening to last night…

Listening to the Planet Mikey show, which I love, he had a caller on for what amounted to be about 10 minutes. NO this wasn’t Wyc Grosbeck, Peter Gammons or even Sam Horn, instead it was some jackass that had no idea what the hell he was talking about.

The theory he purposed was the the Globe and Herald both were on Larry Luchino’s payroll and knew about Schilling’s injury but didn’t break the story because Uncle Larry asked them not to. Are you fucking high? Even if Larry was handing out envelopes of cash outside Yawkey Way these journalists are too competitive to be the one to break the story that they’d let something like that go under the radar.

These are the same yahoo nuts that call and purpose things like trading Julio Lugo and Doug Mirabelli to the Padres for Jake Peavy or trading Tom Brady now, while he has value and letting Matt Gutierrez run the offense because he knows the system well enough. And that’s why you’re sacking groceries and Theo Epstein is making six figures.

I’m sure that some of these guys make some valid points, occasionally, but it seams to be the exception rather than the norm. There really should be a test that you need to take as far as knowing basic things about sports, like salary cap implications before asking why the Celtics couldn’t have gotten Shaq from Miami for Leon Powe.

That’s why I’ve started to listen to Toucher and Rich as well as Opie and Anthony, more and more, instead of Angry Bill and Dakota on Dennis and Callahan and The Big Show.

Did You Think It Was Possible?

So the Celtics get screwed in the Tim Duncan sweepstakes and since then haven’t beaten the Spurs in Boston. That’s right, January of 1997 was the last time the C’s had beaten them in Boston.

So now Tim and Co. come to Boston and your confidence is up; you knocked them off on St Patty’s Day last year in San Antonio with a way worse C’s team than you have this year. But come game time you have no KG and no Perk.

What happens now? The same thing that’s happened all season, the team steps up. Big Baby shuts down Duncan on the defensive side and Rondo has a double double with boards and assists. Not to mention that Peirce blows up offensively.

That makes us 16-0 vs the West this season and according to stats, the best record against the other conference since the ’72 Lakers. Wow! That’s elite company.

KG bowed out of the All Star game and I have to say, good. Rest up and get ready for the post All Star run. This team needs to have legs come June and getting KG some mid-season rest is certainly going to help that situation.
