Geffner is Gone, Let’s Have a Party

MIAMI  On Thursday, the Marlins named Glenn Geffner as one of their radio play-by-play announcers.  ”The Florida Marlins organization is thrilled to welcome Glenn and his family back to South Florida,” Marlins senior vice president of communications and broadcasting P.J. Loyello said. “Although we received significant interest from many qualified candidates, Glenn’s impressive baseball background, coupled with his desire to be an active member of our organization and community, made him the right choice. Fans across the Florida Marlins Radio Network will enjoy listening to longtime great Dave Van Horne and Glenn for many years to come, starting with our first broadcast on March 1.”

Dear God,

Thank you very much for this wonderful blessing. Our favorite bag of doorknobs that sounds like daddy got him a job in the radio booth with such great observations as “Dice-K is actually from Japan…” is finally gone. It was so hard, so very hard to listen to a Geffner broadcast without tossing your radio across the room or driving your car off the road into a median. No longer do we have those worries. Now, let’s bring back Jerry Trupiano

Amen

One Response to Geffner is Gone, Let’s Have a Party

  1. Glenn and Sean McDonough are brothers from other mothers. I never knew what he looked like till that pick on the top of the page! Or should I say that prick on the top of the page! As a great man once said(Carl Everett) Bye, Bye, Bye! He still doesn’t beleive in dinosaurs! Idiot. He says, he’s never seen one, so they must not exist. He’s actually right, they don’t exist.. ANYMORE you fuckin prick. I’m still pissed that he broke up a perfect game(Mussina) in the 9th with 1 out, with a lousy bloop to right, and I just happen to be in attendance. Bitter much…. Anyway, Glenn Geffner we hardly knew thee… Thank god for that! Nice guy, horrible play-by-play guy/color anylist. Enjoy the heat in Florida, thats all your gonna have to enjoy.
