With a nice week off for the Pats, the NFL is still playing football. I know, why?
Saturday at 4:30PM. Skins at Seahawks (-3.5) O/U 40.5
Just my thoughts but Seattle flew under the radar this season playing in a pretty terrible division (San Fran and St Louis, almost as bad as Miami and NY Jets). They’ve been an overrated team in a shitty conference. So as much as we all love the Hasselbacks, I don’t think Seattle is a real contender. Washington is flying high having knocked off the Cowboys “B” Team. So I’m going to take Washington and the under 21-10.
Saturday at 8:00PM. Jags (-2.5) at Steelers O/U 39.5
Let me see, no Fast Willie Parker and the Steelers are all of a sudden a home underdog. If this game was in Florida I would have to guess that line would be at least a touchdown higher. Bottom line is that despite “Smiley” Hines Ward and Roethlisberger under center without a run game (which Pittsburgh is built on) there’s no way that Najeh Davenport can carry the load against the Jags defense. I’m going to take the Jags and the over. I say that Garrard lights up the blitzing Steelers D and the two headed monster of Taylor and Jones-Drew gain a combined 150 yards despite the blitzing Steelers. Something to the tune of 35-20.
Sunday at 1:00PM Giants at Tampa Bay (-3) O/U 39.5
Who really wants to watch this game? Tampa’s offence is shit and Eli Manning, despite the performance against the Pats, sucks. So you have really no offense coming out of the game considering Eli will likely shit his pants against the Bucs defense. Taking Tampa and the under on this one, seems a no brainer. Bottom line, who ever wins will get their asses beat next week anyways. Bucs win 13-7.
Sunday 4:30PM Titans at San Diego (-9.5) O/U 40
They played just about a month ago and San Diego won by six. Philip Rivers was a huge fantasy bust this year and was a key to their awesome 0-4 start. On the other sideline you’re not much better though. Vince Young sucks. Following a season last year that inspired Titans’ fans, he came out this season and was a stinker. Cleveland would have been a much better game at least from an entertainment value. I see this one being closer than the spread, so I’m taking the Titans with the points. Now the over/under is exactly what the final was in their last meeting (23-17) and as much as I would like to take the Titans outright, I think that LT is too good a player to lose in the teams first playoff game two years in a row. Chargers win 21-14 (bet the under).
Let’s see how close I get. Maybe I could have a future in sports betting.
when you mention Eli shitting his pants all I can picture is him crying like someone took away a toy of his and him walking around with saggy diapers. Is there a way for both teams to lose the game? I would not be surprised to see all home teams lose this week, the only home dog I see winning is the chargers.
Little-known fact: The Seahawks have never beaten another team more than once in postseason play. During a 32-year history, Seattle has beaten Denver, Miami, the Los Angeles Raiders, Carolina, Dallas and – in January 2006 – Washington.
Lets GO SKINS!!!!!!
Washington Redskins fan,
Chris
