On paper he surrendered 68 pounds, 290 – 222. But anyone who’s watched baseball knows that Beckett was giving up at least 100 pounds to Planet CC. This guy has his own gravitational pull.
I guess Red Sox Nation shouldn’t be too upset about it, I mean he gets the Cy Young we get a World Series (I got a car, he got a computer). The stats were very close between the two, but Sabathia had the better regular season. Imagine if Beckett didn’t have the “avulsion” (avulsion (n) – Dr. Charles’ creative way of saying blister). He could’ve had 2 more wins, at least a dozen more strikeouts and potentially dropped his ERA a few points. This is why voting shouldn’t be done until the season is over (post season included). Beckett dominated the Indians in the post season and the Sox whooped up on CC who was digging the buffet at the Copley so much that he didn’t go more than 5 in either of his starts.

CC choked in the post season, Beckett was AWESOME…. nothing else needs to be said. CC went to the A-ROD school of playoff performance!
With A-ROD finally figuring out that the Yankees have the most money, he has opened talks with them. The Yankees’ one requirement… no Satan Boras present during the talks. Who said the Yankees’ were bad? Even the Evil Empire won’t make deals with the devil!
